It's difficult to believe this is even Singapore when you see a charming breakfast nook surrounded by beautiful plantations and horses galloping around. Riders Café is actually located in Bukit Timah. You may get a close-up glimpse of the Bukit Timah Saddle Club's stable as well as a gourmet buffet that includes everything from breakfast to supper here. So, if you want to eat somewhere unique, head down quickly before Riders Cafe closes next year, in February.

Riders Café used to be a horse barn, but it has transformed into what most of us locals would call “black-and-white bungalows”. It has whitewashed walls and dark timber beams are evocative of colonial architecture from the 20th century. Its style was inspired by a typical English Tudor home's appearance and by a Malay kampung hut's practicality. Additionally, because there was no air conditioning in those bygone days, the majority of the stable's characteristics were created to minimise heat absorption.

Customers have praised the cafe's excellent ventilation and cooling system despite the fact that it still doesn't utilise air conditioning. However, if you're still a little too hot to bear, you may opt to eat breakfast outside on one of the roomy balconies.

Although Riders Café is known for their brunch menu, they also offer food for all three meals and provide all-day desserts. Some of the more popular dishes that we would recommend are Riders Burger, Angus Steak & Sunny Eggs and Roasted Seabass. Of course there is always room for dessert, you must try their Death by Chocolate Cake. Served with an ice cream on top, you will see the melted chocolate oozing out when you take a scoop of the cake.
